Express yourself scientifically

The Science Village is Science Timmins' most ambitious initiative to date. Located in a building in downtown Timmins, the Science Village is a place where visitors and participants can PLAY, DISCOVER AND LEARN for the love of science. The Village is designed to provide an opportunity for people of all ages to have a memorable experience with science and offers informal learning with hands-on activities.

Thanks for registering

  • This STEM-O is part of a national campaign to promote and encourage action to protect Earth and living things from climate change. It is an opportunity to involve students actively in finding innovative solutions against climate change.

  • Aimed at youth from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

  • The Challenge runs from May 2 to June 10.

  • The challenge will be geared to six different divisions:

    • Beginners: Kindergarten​

    • Novice: Gr 1, 2 and 3

    • Junior: Gr 4, 5 and 6

    • Intermediate: Gr 7 and 8

    • Senior Expert: Gr 9 and 10

    • Senior Pro: Gr 11 and 12

  • Each division will be challenged with an activity related to climate change.

  • Material to complete the challenge can be found around school/home.

  • More participation is crucial to the success of this STEM-O. Our objective is to reach 4,000 participants/students.

  • Challenge will be sent to each participant after registration.

  • Details and procedures will be communicated to each participant.

  • Surveys (before & after) will accompany the challenge.

  • Great end-of-the-year challenge.

  • The number of participants will be published in June.

  • Participate and help us reach our goal.
