Birthday & Special occasions

Facility Rentals

Science Village has many spaces available to use during any occasion. Whether it's a business meeting, family reunion or seminar, we have the equipment and amenities to make your event a successful and memorable one. You can rent one room, or the whole Village! Choose from our stylish meeting room, our equipped kitchen or our large event space. Contact us.

Memberships

A Science Village Membership is a great way to save! Membership pays for itself within a few visits. All members enjoy:

  • Unlimited FREE admission for your family all year long.

  • 10% Discount on special events, programs and purchases.

  • FREE admission to Science Centres throughout the country that are members of the Canadian Association of Science Centres (CASC) Reciprocal Network" passes.

  • 10% Discount on birthday parties, summer camp, march break camp and PD days.

Volunteering

At Science Timmins, we are always looking to grow our team of dedicated volunteers and contributors. As a not-for-profit organization, we always need individuals to support us during the following events and activities:

  • Fundraising events

  • Timmins Charity Bingo volunteers for Science Timmins​​

  • Summer Science Expedition volunteers

  • Celebrations at Science Village on weekends

 

As a volunteer, you benefit from becoming part of the Science Timmins family and help support science and technology in your community. You will also be celebrated during volunteer appreciation events at Science Village.

I-Café

At Science Village, we proudly serve coffee made fresh daily. We also offer a variety of cold and hot beverages, as well as snacks, to nourish your visit. We have a small dining area where you can sit and enjoy your meal. 

Maker Space

Our Maker Space is an area where individuals can design, make and take various creations using simple materials or advanced machines like 3D printers. We also use this area for clubs and programs that promote Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. Anyone can utilize this space, which includes:
​
  • 3D Printers - Printing cost is 20 cents/minute plus 12 cents/gram
  • Laser engraver - Cost is project-dependent
  • EggBot - A robot that can draw on spherical or egg-shaped objects!
  • Desktop computers, laptops and tablets used for 3D modelling and animation
  • Various construction material 
  • The possibilities are endless!​
